ABOUT TAMPA LANGUAGE CENTER
MISSION STATEMENT
The mission of Alex EDU LLC., DBA Tampa Language Center, established in 1988, is to provide high-quality English language instruction in a positive, culturally-sensitive environment and to equip students with knowledge, skills, and experiences that help them achieve their personal and academic goals.
We teach students English so they can go to college, get their Master's degree, or Doctorate degrees at universities in the United States, but we also want to make sure that our students know everyday English too! TLC students who finish level 6 at our school will now be admitted at Hillsborough Community College, St. Leo University, Schiller International University, or Full Sail University without having to take an IELTS or TOEFL test! Our reputation is continuing to grow for all of the right reasons!
Immerse yourself into another culture with our enthusiastic and dedicated teachers. We adapt to your schedule with classes that fit your professional needs and make the process of learning easy, fun, and rewarding. Whether it's for business, test preparation, or pleasure, come learn with a choice of private, semi-private, or group classes. We can help you get a student visa in the United States too!

WHO ARE OUR STUDENTS?
Our students range in age from 16 to 65 years old. You can find students from countries as diverse as Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Costa Rica, France, Germany, Israel, Japan, Kuwait, Poland, Puerto Rico, Saudi Arabia, Spain, and many, many more countries. On average about 25 different countries are represented in our classrooms for our full time program. You'll have plenty of opportunities to speak English with your classmates and make friendships that will last a lifetime.
SCHOOL ACTIVITIES AT TLC
Students are encouraged to share time with their classmates in different social activities that allow them to actively use their English skills. Our students have the opportunity to volunteer once a quarter, visit local attractions, and participate in fun activities that encourage them to use their newly acquired language skills. At the end of each quarter there is an international brunch where each student can share a dish from his/her own country. The goal of these activities is ALWAYS to give the students opportunities to practice their English outside of their regular classroom setting. Follow us on Facebook and Instagram to find out about all the school events you can participate in!
The creative field trips and dynamic social activities arranged by the institute are inspired by the enthusiastic faculty and staff who wholeheartedly involve the community in the entire learning experience for their students. It is one of the main things that sets our school apart from our competitors.
Tampa Language Center is dedicated to making your experience with us memorable as well as educational!
TESTIMONIALS
ABOUT TAMPA
Tampa was recently ranked as the best city to live in in Florida.
It is found on the west coast of Florida, on Tampa Bay, near the Gulf of Mexico. Today, Tampa is part of the metropolitan area referred to as "Tampa Bay," which includes St. Petersburg, Clearwater, and the surrounding area.
Tampa's climate displays some characteristics of a tropical climate. This means that there are hot days and frequent thunderstorms in the summer with less frequent rain in the fall and winter. In the winter there are occasional cold fronts that might lead to a light freeze during the winter, but Tampa never really gets cold enough for snow. The temperature never goes above 100 degrees Fahrenheit (37.8 degrees Celsius), and almost never goes below 32 degrees Fahrenheit (0 degrees Celsius). Our students love the weather here! Especially if they are from Russia.
Tampa has 3 professional sports teams, is home to some of the best beaches in America, and has something to offer everyone, no matter your hobbies (as long as they don't include snow)!
As of 2021, Florida has been ranked the #1 state for higher education for five consecutive years by U.S. News and World Report. So after you improve your English, you can be sure that you will be getting a great quality education from a Florida university.
